TITLE: Senior Special Events Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Division Director
LOCATION: Salisbury, MD
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Division Special Events Director is to organize Festival of Trees and the Salisbury March for Babies fundraising and event committees.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, develop and lead the Salisbury March for Babies event committees to raise over $225,000.
- Secure Revenue Chair for Salisbury March for Babies by 6/1/09.
- Secure in $26,750 corporate sponsorship for the Salisbury March for Babies.
- Hold a CEO event for the Salisbury March for Babies.
- Recruit, develop and lead the Salisbury March for Babies event committees to raise over $225,000.
- Maintain budgeted expense ratios for events.
- Recruit, develop and lead the Salisbury Festival of Trees event committees to raise over $130,000.
- To recruit the Chair, Co-Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Ladies Night Out Chair, Children’s Party Chair and Logistics Chair by February 1, 2009.
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for leadership positions on committees and the division board.
- Monitor core tactic process.
- Develop and grow relationships with key corporate and civic community leaders. Account manages major relationships.
- Grows major gifts income through personal recruitment of large individual gifts. Total $10,000.
- Provide organization visibility through public relations and promotional efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years in successful event management.
- Excellent networking skills.
- Experience in fundraising, event planning, corporate sponsorship.
- Strong verbal and written skills, problem-solving, planning, implementation, organization and computer skills.
- Demonstrated leadership.
- Flexible hours and ability to travel throughout the Eastern Shore. Car and valid driver’s license required.
