TITLE: State Director of Program Services
REPORTS TO: State Director
LOCATION: Newport, DE
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
To develop, market, implement, administer, and oversee all March of Dimes services and programs in the areas of public and professional education, grants, community services, and public affairs. Participate as an active member of the chapter management team. This position ensures that the March of Dimes is an active participant in improving the health of babies in the chapter’s communities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and support for chapter and division volunteer leaders for all program committees including Program Services, Public Affairs and Health Education committees
- Manage effective program planning, implementation and evaluation in order to meet the Standards for Success
- Create, plan, secure funding for, and implement programs that support local perinatal needs
- Provide staff and volunteer mission related education and support
- Maximize chapter effectiveness in meeting Program Plan objectives by managing coalition and volunteer involvement and community outreach
- Maintain an active Public Affairs committee and support legislation as indicated by OGA and local advocacy opportunities
- Develop and maintain an active Youth Program
- Integrate program with communications and fundraising to support the mission triangle through staff training, relevant program information providing input to and participating in chapter events, and co-planning with chapter managers to incorporate the mission in all aspects of chapter activities
- Manage all aspects of NICU Family Support Program including supervision of NICU Family Support Specialist.
- Secure funding for NICU Family Support Program.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 2-4 years experience in maternal/child health or related field
- Master’s degree preferred in Public Health, Public Policy, Community Health, or equivalent education and experience
- Strong volunteer development and management skills
- Experience working with diverse communities and organizations
- Extensive knowledge in program planning, evaluation, data analysis, grant review and grant writing
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
