  TITLE: Family Team Specialist - PTT

REPORTS TO: State Director

LOCATION: Barre, VT

REASON FOR OPENING: New Position

POSITION PURPOSE:
This is a part time temporary position focused on development and recruitment of new and veteran Family Teams to generate new funds for the mission of March of Dimes through the March for Babies activities. Continuation beyond 2009 will be subject to program success and availability of grant funding.

 



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Raise a minimum of $20,000 in new revenue by recruiting and assisting in managing new and previously non-contributing family teams throughout Vermont
  • Grow veteran family teams with an increase of $10,000 in new revenue from these teams 
  • Manage family teams newly recruited for MFB 2009 
  • Manage response system to family teams that register online
  • Coordinate communication with family teams via e-newsletters and targeted group emails
  • Identify, recruit, and train appropriate family team volunteers for chapter leadership positions 
  • Coordinate day-of MFB family team activities at event sites
  • Work with family teams to gather human interest stories to pitch to local media, utilize in Chapter publications and post on MOD-VT website
  • Manage family teams data collection and retention 
  • Serve as Family Team liaison with National and Regional offices 
  • Participate on national Family Team Liaison conference calls 
  • Coordinate Family Team management with other staff and volunteer site coordinators
  • Assist with outreach to other teams and funding sources

 



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • Minimum two years experience in fundraising or sales with successful track record of income growth
  • Experience managing volunteers: excellent people skills
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Dynamic, energetic, empathic individual who enjoys working and collaborating with many different type of individuals, families, disciplines, medical personnel and organizations.
  • Ability to travel within Vermont – car and valid driver’s license
  • Some flexibility of schedule is required
